Taking a page out of Law School, this series uses the methodology of analyzing case law to provide a more in-depth knowledge and interpretation of significant pieces of Employment Legislation.  Explore the facts, issues, decisions and reasoning behind these real life cases.  Participants will learn about the key employer actions and mistakes that became the focal point of these various examples of litigation and the steps that may have been taken to avoid these outcomes.  Learn from the mistakes of others so that you don't become the next case!

Objectives

  • Identify the core legal claims and defenses
  • Understand legal theory and reasoning employed by the courts in analyzing specific legislation
  • Engage and acquire a more in-depth understanding of the laws being examined
  • Differentiate between substantive versus procedural defenses

This program requires pre-reading and prep work by participants.  Materials will be e-mailed to participants ahead of time.

Designed for Human Resources professionals, managers and leaders as well as anyone looking to increase their knowledge of the litigation process as well as a more in depth knowledge of the laws being examined.  Participants are required to have a good general understanding of ADA.
