• 7.7 million working adults in the U.S. admit to using illicit drugs in the past year.

Learning Objectives

Target Audience

All supervisors and managers.


• 3.9 million reported using illicit drugs before arriving at work or during working hours and working under the influence.
• An estimated 3 million adults consumed alcohol before coming to work and 5 million drank alcohol during the workday.
• An estimated 2 million adults worked while under the influence of alcohol and 12 million worked with a hangover in the past year.
