Sargent Manufacturing in New Haven, CT has an open position for a Human Resources Generalist position. Below is a summary of the position: Summary of Position Provide general human resources support for SARGENT and related group entities in New Haven. Principal Responsibilities - Payroll administration including new hire inputting and maintaining job titles and EEO codes.
- Manage performance review process including tracking, approval notifications and maintaining metrics.
- Assist with recruitment efforts including internal and external job postings, screening/interviewing, maintaining applicant testing tools, managing temps, offer letters, background checks, new hire prep and orientation.
- Taking ownership of applicant tracking system including generating requisitions, developing/updating job descriptions, applicant flow, EEO reports, recruitment metrics and preparing affirmative action plan.
- Maintaining monthly headcount and org charts.
- Managing employee recognition programs.
- Providing ad-hoc reports and analysis including governmental reporting, salary, benefits and policy benchmarking.
- Managing unemployment and workers compensation claims.
- Back-up Benefits Coordinator in administering health, welfare and retirement plans.
- Identifying appropriate training programs and coordinating onsite/offsite training sessions.
- Managing production of quarterly newsletter.
- Planning a variety of company events.
- Special projects as needed – such as developing HR intranet, managing employee surveys and leading HR kaizen events to identify efficiencies in processes and procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements - 5+ Years generalist experience including interviewing/selection
- BS Degree in Management or related field
- Utmost attention to detail and confidentiality
- High degree of accuracy
- Strong PC and communication skills
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible, service-oriented and have a strong sense of urgency
- Manufacturing experience desired. Experience in union environment is a plus.
