The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) affords employees the right to take a leave of absence because of their own serious health conditions or the serious health condition of their partent, spouse or dependent. This time can be taken a in one block or broken up into partial days or weeks. It can be preplanned time or unforseeable in nature. These intermitteent FMLA leaves present some of the greatest challenges for HR and supervisors alike from scheduling, operational, morale and pay perspectives. This half-day program is designed to discuss the issues and identify constructive strageties for handling these difficult situations.
