Stress is a spur to action, growth, and success if correctly handled. But if poorly handled, stress can be a cause of burnout, ineffectiveness, and employee strife. This program is designed to help you recognize the sources, symptoms, and effects of stress and learn how to deal with work pressures and meet the challenges of stress-related problems. In addition, you will develop a practical, concrete self-management approach to stress.

Individuals who are experiencing work-related stress and who wants to deal with this stress more effectively.

  • Define what stress is and describe factors that initiate a stress response
  • Recognize the symptoms of stress and identify the effects of stress - physically, emotionally and behaviorally
  • Determine if the personality exhibited at work may be a cause of stress
  • Explain and discuss stress reduction strategies with practical application
  • Practice and demonstrate effective stress reduction techniques
