Minimum Wage is on the Rise Throughout New England!
For Massachusetts, the minimum wage increased from $12.75 to $13.50 per hour effective January 1st. The tipped employee wage also increased from $4.95 to $5.55 per hour.
Vermont saw its minimum wage increase from $10.96 per hour to $11.75 per hour effective January 1st as well.
On the other hand, Connecticut’s minimum wage is increasing on a different timeline due to its recent change last fall. Since Connecticut’s minimum wage increased to $12.00 per hour effective September 1, 2020, it will not increase again until later in 2021 with the minimum wage rising to $13.00 per hour effective August 1, 2021.
As Rhode Island just increased its minimum wage to $11.50 per effective October 1, 2020, there is no further increase scheduled at this time.
