Yet despite these longstanding principles\, employers often fail to understand the scope of how to reasonably accommodate employees properly and that can often lead to a charge of disability discrimination. It is no surprise then that (according to the EEOC’s most recent charge statistics for fiscal year 2022) 34% of the total charges that they handled (over 25\,000 cases!) involved disability discrimination.
