DEI is a critical component to developing and maintaining a culture of respect in your workplace. Some organizations attempt to give DEI the appearance of being a value they embody without doing the work. This “check the box” approach can actually be more damaging to your organization’s culture and brand than doing nothing at all. (To be clear, doing nothing is no longer an option either.)
