Why Stanley Park Still Feels Magical

Have you visited Stanley Park in Westfield, MA lately? Maybe you remember it from childhood visits or family outings years ago. This 300-acre Western Massachusetts treasure continues to welcome visitors with beautiful gardens, walking trails, picnic areas, athletic spaces, ponds, and peaceful places to slow down and enjoy nature.

Visitors can stroll through the award-winning Rose Garden, Asian Garden, Arboretum, Herb Garden, and Woodland Wildflower Garden, or explore the Frank Stanley Beveridge Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary, with more than 160 acres of managed trails along the Little River.

The park began on just 25 acres and grew into a beloved refuge for recreation, music, culture, and wildlife. Its unique features, such as the Carillon Tower, Duck Pond, covered bridge, black squirrels, and nearly 200 species of native wildflowers and ferns, make it feel both peaceful and full of discovery.

Stanley Park isn’t just a place to wander. It’s also a vibrant gathering space for the community. The park offers a range of indoor and outdoor venues, from open-air picnic pavilions to full-service event spaces like the Beveridge Pavilion, which can host large celebrations with kitchen access, or the charming historic Meeting House for more intimate occasions. Whether it’s a wedding, family reunion, impromptu picnic, or corporate event, the park can accommodate everything from small gatherings to groups of 300, all surrounded by beautiful gardens and natural scenery.

Throughout the season, Stanley Park comes alive with events that make every visit feel a little different, from Sunday Night Concerts with familiar local bands to weekly fitness classes like Zumba, nature workshops, and seasonal celebrations. Several of EANE’s staff members have wonderful memories of Stanley Park and its many outdoor activities and events. We know if you come experience the park, you too will be hooked and will keep coming back again and again.
