Topic: ADA and Reasonable Accommodations
It is almost inevitable…. employers will encounter situations in which they will be faced with the need to reasonably accommodate a disabled employee. Yet despite these longstanding principles, employers often fail to understand the scope of how to reasonably accommodate employees properly and that can often lead to a charge of disability discrimination. It is no surprise then that (according to the EEOC’s most recent charge statistics for fiscal year 2022) 34% of the total charges that they handled (over 25,000 cases!) involved disability discrimination. How do you go about this obligation the right way? How can you get tripped up? Join Mark Adams as he walks you through the process, what he sees as common barriers that employers face and how to overcome those limitations.
