Supervisor, Manager, and Leadership Training Providers in New England: A 2027 Buyer’s Guide

Who trains frontline supervisors and managers in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine, what it costs per person, and whether state grants will pay for it.

Key takeaways

  • Employers associations (EANE, AIM HR Solutions, CBIA) combine public classes, onsite programs, and help with state training grants. EANE publishes its prices, AIM publishes most of its prices, and CBIA publishes none.
  • Public classes for one or two supervisors run from $149 for a one-day virtual seminar (Pryor) to $2,895 for a two-day AMA seminar in Boston. A multi-session series with an assessment can range from $745 (EANE Foundational Leadership 101) to $2,750 (AIM Supervisor Essentials).
  • Onsite training for a whole team is quote-based almost everywhere. Once you have four or more supervisors to train, the per-person math usually favors bringing a program in-house.
  • Manufacturers have a set of options through the six state MEP centers, including a $2,500 seven-week Supervisor Bootcamp in Connecticut and a free, grant-funded program in Rhode Island.
  • Every New England state reimburses part of the cost. Massachusetts pays up to 100% for employers with 100 or fewer employees. The other five states cover roughly half.

Regional Employer Associations and Business Associations

EANE (Employers Association of the NorthEast)

Yes, this is us. EANE has been serving employers in New England since 1913. Our RightTrack Development practice provides live training designed to close critical skills gaps, develop leaders and build employee engagement. EANE membership isn’t required for training.

  • Best for: Employers who want to send one or two supervisors to a public class this quarter, want to bring training onsite for a group of supervisors, or want a comprehensive learning and development plan for their organization.
  • Programs: Foundational Leadership 101 for new supervisors (4 modules with an Everything DiSC assessment), Foundational Leadership 102 for leaders 6 to 18 months in, and the Principles of Leadership Certificate Program for experienced managers (8 modules). Even more single-topic courses cover feedback, conflict, documentation, and change.
  • Formats: Public classes run live online or in person at the Agawam training center. Onsite programs are built around your workplace examples and staffed with a trainer who has worked in your industry.
  • Price: Foundational Leadership 101 or 102 is $745 per person for members and $875 for non-members. Principles of Leadership is $1,875 for members and $2,150 for non-members. Harassment prevention training for supervisors, which meets Connecticut’s requirement, is $150 for members and $175 for non-members and carries 2.5 HRCI and SHRM credits.
  • Grants: All EANE courses are listed in the Massachusetts Express Program directory, and the training grant services team handles applications in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont.
  • Worth noting: In-person public classes are held in Agawam, in western Massachusetts, so employers outside of driving distance choose the virtual or on-site group sessions.

AIM HR Solutions (Associated Industries of Massachusetts)

AIM HR Solutions is the training and HR services affiliate of Associated Industries of Massachusetts, based in Boston.

  • Best for: Massachusetts employers who want a longer weekly series and plan to fund it through the Workforce Training Fund.
  • Programs: Supervisor Essentials: Core Skills and Strategies (10 weekly two-hour sessions, about 19.5 hours, for supervisors with under three years’ experience), Supervisor Essentials: Team Leadership (6 sessions for experienced supervisors), and Developing Mindful Leaders (9 sessions).
  • Formats: Public classes are virtual only. Private group training is available virtually or onsite.
  • Price: Core Skills is $2,750 for AIM members and $3,450 for non-members on the 2026 cohort page; a second live page lists $3,000 and $3,750. Mindful Leaders is $3,000 and $3,750. A 3-for-2 promotion applies when three people from one company enroll.
  • Grants: AIM assigns a grant specialist to Express Program applications.
  • Worth noting: AIM’s “Free Supervisor Training for Massachusetts Companies” page describes Express Program reimbursement rather than free tuition, and the page still lists a discontinued 15-week format and a $20,000 annual cap that Commonwealth Corporation sets at $15,000. There are no in-person public classes, and the non-member price exceeds the Express Program’s $3,000 per-person cap.

CBIA (Connecticut Business & Industry Association)

CBIA is Connecticut’s largest business organization, based in Hartford. Training is a member service.

  • Best for: Connecticut members who need compliance sessions for supervisors delivered onsite at a flat fee.
  • Programs: The one supervisor skills program we found is Essential Skills for Supervisors and Managers, a single half-day online session delivered by Dale Carnegie (3.0 HRCI and SHRM credits). Onsite sessions cover employment law basics, FMLA, ADA accommodation, harassment prevention, and ethics.
  • Formats: Onsite sessions are a flat fee with unlimited attendees and a minimum of five supervisors; two companies can combine to meet the minimum.
  • Price: Not published for events or onsite sessions.
  • Grants: No grant-assistance service listed.
  • Worth noting: We couldn’t find a multi-week supervisor development track, and nothing was on the training calendar when we checked. The skills content isn’t CBIA’s own, and the video library states it “will not fulfill state and federal training requirements.”

Learning Dynamics

Learning Dynamics is a training company in Wallingford, Connecticut, founded in 1981, with roots in banking and clients that include the MBTA, Otis, and UConn.

  • Best for: Larger employers, especially banks, that want a program designed only for their people.
  • Programs: Supervisor’s Tool Kit (12 modules, delivered in one full day or two half-days, available in Spanish), Building Leaders at Every Level, and about 20 single-topic leadership modules. Train-the-trainer certification lets your HR team deliver the material in-house.
  • Formats: Onsite, webinar, and custom e-learning. There are no public classes.
  • Price: Not published.
  • Grants: Not mentioned.
  • Worth noting: An employer with one or two supervisors has no open-enrollment option. Hours, credits, and pricing all require a sales conversation.

North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce with Mount Wachusett Community College

  • Best for: Smaller Massachusetts employers who want a long, structured course funded by the Express Program.
  • Program: First Line Supervisor Training, a 90-hour course (a 150-hour version also runs) covering communication, team building, time management, planning, problem solving, and performance management.
  • Formats: Live instructor-led sessions on Zoom; open sessions run June through October.
  • Price: Not published. The chamber states 100% grant reimbursement for companies under 100 employees and 50% above that.
  • Worth noting: One cohort a year, and 90 hours is a large commitment for a supervisor who still has a job to do.

How to Choose a Supervisor Training Provider

  • Decide public or onsite by headcount. One to three supervisors are a better fit for a public class. At four or more, ask for an onsite quote; you’ll usually pay less per person and the examples can be customized to your organization.
  • Ask for the module list. A program built for frontline supervisors covers expectations, feedback, documentation, and the first hard conversation with a former peer. A program built for executives covers strategy. Several providers on this list sell both under the word “leadership.”
  • Favor live over self-paced for skills. A video library is fine for compliance refreshers. Delegation and difficult conversations need practice with other people in the room, and a live schedule is what gets busy supervisors to finish.
  • Check what the laws require. Connecticut requires two hours of harassment prevention training for supervisors within six months of promotion, and some national curricula skip it.
  • Ask about reinforcement. Find out what happens after the class: follow-up sessions, a next course, etc.
  • Consider grant funding. Confirm the course is on your state’s approved list and submit the application before the start date, or you’ll pay full price.

How We Built The List

We included a provider if it trains frontline supervisors or managers (not only executives), delivers in New England in person or live online with regional facilitators, and publishes enough about its programs to verify. We pulled every price, date, and format from the provider’s own site or an official state page in September 2026. Prices are public list prices and change, so confirm before you budget.

Where to Start with Supervisor Training

If you’re weighing a public class against an onsite program, or trying to figure out which grant applies, we’ll talk it through with you.

EANE runs a training needs discussion at no charge, and our onsite training page shows how we build a program around your supervisors and your industry.
