Herrick & White Ltd, based in Cumberland, Rhode Island, has spent close to five decades crafting custom, high-end cabinetry for some of the most discerning spaces in the country. Their work is found in homes where every detail matters and expectations are anything but ordinary. Their day-to-day partnerships are with the designers and contractors trusted to bring those deeply personal visions to life throughout New England, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida and Bahamas.
The company’s process is centered on precision. Their business is about unique requests; think a specific cut of wood, the direction of a grain, how a finish settles depending on light and application. The work requires time, consistency, and a level of skill that is developed over years of hands-on application. It also needs the business acumen of knowing when to bring on new technology, while fostering a culture of sustainability and partnership between clients, co-workers, and the community.
That same long-term approach shows up in how they build and retain their internal team. Talent is brought in through internships and apprenticeships, with an emphasis on learning the craft hands-on. Many employees stay for eight or more years, continuing to refine their skills.
There is also a rhythm to the culture. Craftsmen and engineers work together every day in the 55,000 square foot building in a former textile mill complex, Friday lunch is always provided, and an annual fishing trip out of Plymouth, Massachusetts brings the team together outside of work.
In a field where the margin for error is small, Herrick & White relies on both skilled work and workforce stability to maintain its standards. We are proud to recognize Herrick & White Ltd, an EANE member since 2018.
